About Brian

My name is Brian Lloyd-Newberry. I've been building software for thirty years — startups, unicorns, large enterprises, billion-dollar acquisitions — and I spent almost 16 years at Cox Automotive, most recently leading their Product and Technology Innovation Lab, where I led the charge on bringing Generative and Agentic Intelligence into a large product development organization at enterprise scale.

In January 2026 I left to found Waking State Convergence, LLC — an Agentic Intelligence research, advisory, and coaching practice — and to write more deliberately about what I've found.

The current preoccupation: the gap between what humans mean and what computers can receive, and whether agentic AI finally closes it. The first answer is here.

I live in Atlanta, GA. Father, spouse, dog parent. I build things with Claude Code and think too much about category theory.
